The 47th General Assembly of the Kerala Regional Latin Catholic Council (KRLCC) commenced with the presidential address delivered by Most Rev. Dr. Varghese Chakkalakal, Archbishop of Calicut and President of KRLCC. Addressing the gathering of bishops, clergy, religious, and lay representatives, the Archbishop called for greater unity, missionary commitment, and active participation of the faithful in the life and mission of the Church.
In his address, Archbishop Chakkalakal highlighted the importance of strengthening evangelization, promoting social justice, empowering the laity, and responding to the contemporary challenges faced by the Church and society. He emphasized that the Church must remain a beacon of hope by witnessing to the Gospel through faith, service, and communion.
The Archbishop also urged the members of the KRLCC to work collaboratively for the spiritual renewal and holistic development of the Latin Catholic community in Kerala, while fostering harmony, compassion, and solidarity among all sections of society.
The General Assembly brought together bishops, priests, religious, and lay delegates from the Latin dioceses of Kerala to deliberate on pastoral priorities, social concerns, and future initiatives aimed at strengthening the mission of the Church in the region.
