Archbishop Varghese Chakkalakal Inaugurates CBCI Basic Ecclesial Communities Southern Region Directors’ Meet

Kozhikode: The ToT Workshop for Southern Region Directors, organized by the CBCI Commission for Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs), commenced at the Navjyoti Renewal Centre (NRC), Eranhipalam, Kozhikode, on 11 August 2026.

The workshop was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Varghese Chakkalakal, Archbishop of Calicut. The two-day programme, held on 11 and 12 August, is centred on the theme “BEC’s Effective Execution of the Pastoral Plan–2033.”

The workshop brings together directors from the Southern Region to reflect on and strengthen the implementation of Basic Ecclesial Communities in accordance with the pastoral vision and plan of the Church.

The programme provides an opportunity for the participants to share experiences, discuss pastoral approaches, and explore effective ways of strengthening BECs as vibrant communities of faith, participation, and mission.

The workshop is being held at the Navjyoti Renewal Centre, Eranhipalam, Kozhikode, with the participation of delegates from the Southern Region.
