Archbishop Varghese Chakkalakal Lays Foundation Stone for New Presbytery at St. Teresa’s Basilica, Mahe

Mahe: His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Varghese Chakkalakal, Archbishop of Calicut, laid the foundation stone for the new presbytery at St. Teresa’s Basilica, Mahe, marking an important milestone in the development of the historic shrine.

The ceremony was attended by V. Rev. Msgr. Jenson Puthenveettil, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Calicut; Rev. Fr. Sebastian Karakkatt, Rector of St. Teresa’s Basilica; members of the Archdiocesan Curia; religious sisters; Parish Pastoral Council members; and parishioners.

The foundation-stone laying ceremony marked another step in strengthening the pastoral mission and infrastructure of the Basilica, which continues to serve as an important spiritual centre for the faithful.
